SPIS freezing after Geometry/Mesh Editor

I installed and ran SPIS 6.2.5 on Windows 11 normally in the past week, with a simplified test model of just two boxes. Since yesterday and after loading a new .geo file, that maybe contained an error, SPIS does not react and after a while freezes either in the geometry editor or when skipping that in the Mesh window.
Now what is confusing is that I still can’t run SPIS after multiple reinstallations and reboots, trying also the older version 6.2.4 and trying to load correct meshes which work perfectly fine for my colleagues.
Only thing I can do is load a geo or msh file, but it does not react after clicking on “Finalize mesh and save” or “Next and save”. After clicking that multiple times it freezes completely. And there are no warnings or errors.

What could cause this issue on my computer?

Edit: I have now installed version 6.1.2 which seems to work. Nevertheless, any idea how to fix 6.2.x is appreciated.

That’s indeed a very strange behaviour, it makes me think of an antimalware blocking silently the application but the persistence of the issue after the reinstallation is very strange.

In any case, could you ensure in the SPIS preferences that:

  • 3D screenshot for reporting is Off
  • Automatic 3D camera reset is unselected

This two options reduce the risks of issues with the 3D rendering layout, but I am unsure the issue is due to that as usually, 3D rendering issues crashes the application.

Okay, with these settings turned off I can now run v6.2.5 again. Thank you!
