Cathode Setting for Electron Gun


I am currently working on modeling an electron gun, and my focus is on understanding the role of cathode settings in this process. I’m seeking guidance on whether to utilize a standalone cathode or connect it to a thruster for optimal modeling results.

If a standalone cathode is recommended, I would greatly appreciate it if someone could provide an example of how to set up parameters such as “CathodeDistribution,” “CathodeXposition,” and “CathodeXdirection.” Additionally, should new parameters be created for global parameter settings?

On the other hand, if using a cathode linked to a thruster is advisable, I’m curious about the specific configuration needed to emit only electrons. How can I ensure that the thruster emits electrons exclusively, without the presence of ions or other particles?
