Hi,
I am an undergraduate conducting a project into the interaction of ion engine plumes with rarefied atmosphere and ionosphere in very low earth orbit, for example the ESA GOCE mission.
I am new to the SPIS software, and would appreciate any advice upon how to model the thruster within the non-vacuum conditions. i.e model the thruster as an emitting surface within a hypersonic low density flow of both neutral atmosphere and charged ionosphere
Thanks,
Shaun

Dear Shaun,
Coupling the thruster plasma with the environment is not possible with current versions of SPIS. A new version dedicated to this task is scheduled to be released before summer.
Best Regards,
Sébastien
