Message by David Parrott:
Following advice on previous issues (and thank you very much for this ) I’ve downloaded SPIS3_7RC09.tar, however on opening WinZip claims that:
“The TAR file contains filenames longer than those allowed by Windows and cannot be opened”
I gather that Windows XP permits a filename of up to 255 characters, and that this must include the full path from drive name to file extension.
Specifying a WinZip work area & temporary folder in the root directory of a drive doesn’t seem to help. In case there are some really large filenames/file paths, would it be possible to cut these down and repackage?
Thanks,
David

I think its all the VTK output left in the Data/validation projects. Surely these can be deleted.

Problem solved
The freeware archiving/compression utility 7-Zip (\http://www.7-zip.org/) was more successful. Incompatible files were simply excluded from the extraction process.
Thanks,
